MN Birds of the Byway - Christmas Bird Count
1st Annual Uppgaard WMA Christmas Bird Count 12/16/2011
A new birding event took place this past winter on Friday December 16, 2011 along the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway. The National Audubon Society accepted the Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area as the site for a new annual Christmas Bird Count. This new count circle (below) will be the first for this area (Pequot Lakes, Crosslake and Jenkins) and for a Minnesota Byway. Count information and results is available at birdsofthebyway.com. The first Uppgaard CBC- A success!
The first Uppgaard WMA CBC took place on Friday December 16, 2011 along the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway. The count had 8 participants who drove and walked several of the trails and 2 feeder watchers who watched thier feeders and reported thier sightings.
